Bentara

BENTARA Coffee Company is a Medan-based coffee brand with plantations across Indonesia, including Sumatra and Kalimantan, offering specialty coffee and roasting selections from across the archipelago.

Developed by the KYUB Studio Team, the project covered Brand Identity, Packaging, and Illustration, shaping BENTARA into a more distinctive and consumer-facing brand.

To strengthen its appeal as both a local and international gift, we built a visual world around the hornbill as BENTARA’s main character, representing its journey of bringing coffee beans from across Indonesia, refining their qualities, and introducing them to a wider audience.

Supporting animal characters were then developed for each coffee variant, drawing from the wildlife of their respective origins and creating a richer storytelling system across the brand and packaging.

The resulting identity creates a flexible and recognizable foundation that can continue to grow across products, packaging, and future brand experiences while supporting BENTARA’s ambition to reach a broader consumer market.
